LABOR DAY LANDMARK STYLE

MY UNCLE TOM HAD BEEN WORKING UP AT A FOREST SERVICE CAMP IN LANDMARK DURING THE SUMMER AND SINCE IT WAS LABOR DAY WEEKEND WE ALL FIGURED THAT IT WOULD BE A GREAT SPOT FOR A WEEKEND CAMPING TRIP. SO TESS AND I LOADED THE TRUCK AND HEADED OUT OF TOWN. MY PARENTS WHERE GOING TO COME ALSO BUT WOULD BE LEAVING THE NEXT DAY. SO IT WAS TEAM COUSIN AND THE FUR KIDS AND THE OPEN ROAD.

AS WE GOT CLOSER TO MY AUNT AND UNCLE'S HOUSE JACKSON NEW WE WHERE CLOSE TO HOME SO DOWN WENT THE WINDOW AND OUT POPPED JACKSON

THE LITTLE DEAR DEVIL EVEN STANDS ON THE VERY EDGE OF THE WINDOW TO GET A BETTER LOOK AND SMELL

ONCE WE LOADED AUNT CHERI'S STUFF IN THE TRUCK IT WAS OFF THE LANDMARK

WITH ME DRIVING, TESS HOLDING THE KIDS AND CHERI IN THE BACK WITH ALL OF OUR STUFF... WE WERE PACK TO THE BRIM. EVEN THE PROPANE WAS CRAMMED IN ON THE FLOOR IN FRONT OF TESS

WE HAD SNACKS THAT JACKSON HELPED HIMSELF TO...BUT THEY WHERE NOT TO HIS LIKINGS AND HE SPIT THEM BACK OUT IN THE BAG...WHICH LATER WAS EATEN BY CHERI

ONCE ON THE WARM LAKE HIGHWAY WE STOPPED FOR TWO DOES TO CROSS

THERE WAS RUMOR THAT A BEAR HAD BEEN HANGING OUT AT THE DUMP. BUT ALL WE SAW WHERE PAW PRINTS

ALMOST THERE

JUST ON THE LAST HILL INTO LANDMARK THAT SKY HAD BIG LUMPY CLOUDS IN THE DISTANCE.

THE NEXT MORNING HOT COCOA AND FRENCH TOAST WAS MADE AND QUICKLY EATEN

BREAKFAST WITH THE GORDON'S IS NEVER DULL

WE EVEN HAD SOME MORNING VISITORS

AFTER BREAKFAST DAISY TOOK SADIE FOR A WALK

THEN SADIE CHASED DAISY FOR TUGGING ON HER

LATER IN THE AFTERNOON WE STARTED EXPLORING THE CAMP

THIS IS THE CABIN THE BIG BOSSES STAY IN

THE CABINS ARE LIGHTLY FURNISHED AND NEED SOME FIXING UP, BUT PRETTY COOL TO EXPLORE

TOM WAS PROUND OF SOME ARCHAEOLOGICAL FINDINGS AND PUT THEM UNDER A BUCKET WHICH HE WAS QUIT EXCITED ABOUT....

A PETRIFIED MOUSE FAMILY

THERE WAS A PICNIC AREA OUT FRONT OF THE CABIN AND WE SPOTTED THIS...

A THROWING KNIFE

AND WE HAD SOME FUN WITH IT

ITS HARDER THEN IT LOOKS

FINALLY TESS GOT IT TO STICK AFTER A BIT

I GOT AN IDEA TO HAVE MOSS MUSTACHES BUT THE MOSS WAS TO HIGH TO REACH SO TEAM COUSIN DID THE ONE THING WE DO BEST...

WE ARE A PRETTY STRANGE BUNCH

EVEN DAISY MAY HAD TO TRY IT

WITH MORE LAUGHING THEN WE COULD HANDLE WE HEADED BACK TO THE CAMPER TO SIT OUTSIDE AT WHAT TOM CALLS THE BISTRO

I'M PRETTY SURE I BROUGHT HALF THE LIQUOR STORE WITH ME

SO WE ATE SOME SNACKS AND GOT OUR DRINK ON

TESS GOT RIGHT TO IT

UNCLE TOM PICKING HIS POISON

SOME CROWN AND COKE

TESS MADE THE BISTRO A SIGN

SADIE AND JACKSON TOOK A NAP

TOM SHOWED OFF HIS BIRD FEED SKILLS

AND DAISY WATCHED FOR SQUIRRELS

PARTY AT THE LANDMARK BISTRO

AS THE AFTERNOON WENT ON MY BOY JACKSON NEEDED HIS AUNTIE JESSIE FOR CUDDLES

SADIE JO ON HER MAMA

OH AND LOOK WHO FINALLY SHOWED UP...

MY PARENTS

AS MY PARENTS WHERE UNHOOKING THEIR TRAILER SOMETHING WASN'T QUIT RIGHT

IT HAD FALLEN OFF THE BLOCK OF WOOD AND TIPPED FORWARD. BUT WITH SOME MUSCLE POWER WE GOT IT ALL STRAIGHTENED OUT

NIGHT FELL AND WE ALL GATHERED IN THE MANSION FOR BED

THE WIENERS WHERE POOPED FROM A HARD DAY OF PLAYING

TESS AND I ALWAYS READ BEFORE BED WHEN WE ARE CAMPING AND WE DO SO BY HEADLIGHTS. WE LAUGH THAT IT MAKES IT FEEL LIKE WE ARE HAVING A GIRLS NIGHT SLUMBER PARTY.

I'M SUCH A GOOD AUNTIE THAT I LET MY BOY SLEEP WITH ME ON MY JACKET AT NIGHT

THE NEXT MORNING ON HIS WAY OVER FOR BREAKFAST JIMMY FOUND THIS LITTLE GUY

AND TESS AND I HAD A PHOTO SHOOT WITH HIM ON THE BREAKFAST TABLE

SADIE WAS PRETTY FREAKED OUT BY HIM

AND JACKSON, WELL HE WANTED TO EAT HIM

ONCE BREAKFAST WAS OVER I HAD TO PACK MY THINGS UP, FOR MY WEEKEND WAS OVER AND I HAD TO BE BACK TO WORK AT 2PM. IT WAS A SHORT TWO DAY CAMP TRIP BUT WELL WORTH IT.

HEADING OUT FOR THE LONG TRIP HOME

STARTING THE STEEP DRIVE DOWN...WHICH HAS A PRETTY OVER LOOK FOR MILES BUT THE SWITCH BACKS MAKE IT NASTY

WARM LAKE DOWN BELOW

ONE OF MY FAVORITE WATER FALLS RIGHT NEXT TO THE ROAD... RADIATOR SPRINGS

EVEN THOUGH IT WAS A SHORT WEEKEND IT WAS A MUCH NEEDED GET AWAY TO SAY GOODBYE TO SUMMER.

IT WAS ALSO A TRIP I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER SINCE IT WAS MY LAST CAMPING TRIP WITH MY SWEET BOY JACKSON...MISS YOU LITTLE MAN!
